7 Holiday Traditions You Should Start This Year

Holiday Traditions you should start this year with your family

Section 1: Lighting a Candle for Peace

1. On the first night of Christmas, gather everyone together and light a candle for peace. You can do this anywhere, but it’s easier to do it with others.

2. Then, spend the next few nights lighting candles together as a family, sharing in your favorite Hanukkah foods (like latkes and sufganiyot), and enjoying the tradition of celebrating and coming together for the holidays.

3. Find a little commonality or practice in your daily lives that you can use to make a positive change or a small contribution to the community. Think about the great causes you support, how you volunteer, and how you care for the people around you.

Giving as a Gift

The age-old custom of giving presents during the holiday season is not only the most popular tradition, but it's also the easiest. The only challenge is to choose a gift for the ones you love and make it special. From crafty to practical to homemade, you have a wide variety of options to make your gift meaningful.

Giving Letters

Something that makes giving an extremely touching experience is handwritten notes and letters that the people in your life keep for decades to come. Choose an occasion that suits your friend or loved one and create a personalization to your gift. After all, a handmade gift comes from the heart.

 Cooking for Others

Many people have fond memories of having their mothers or grandmother teach them the ways of cooking.

 Making a Nativity Scene

Why a nativity scene? As a kid, when I used to ask my mother why we never have a nativity scene, she would simply reply, "Because we don't celebrate Christmas." That answer has haunted me for most of my life, and the day before Thanksgiving, I decided to get my mother to agree to one small, but significant Christmas tradition that would bring us all together and strengthen our family.

And for anyone skeptical, I have a theory as to why we should celebrate the holiday of Baby Jesus. The original celebration of Christmas was a Christian Pagan celebration called Saturnalia. This festival took place from Dec. 17 to Jan. 1.

 A New Holiday Tradition

You don’t have to wait until December 25th to start doing things differently in your family. Start as soon as you get together for a birthday party, bridal shower, or party for any reason.

It’s one of the best parts of life to be able to spend time with family and friends. Let’s make sure we are spending time together by starting new holiday traditions.

A lot of people forget how important family time is when we spend so much time with friends and workmates. After spending so much time with our friends, we need to find time to do the things we are usually so busy doing.

Our relationship with family and friends is one of the things that sets us apart from the rest of the world.

 The Holiday Routine

The first day of the Holidays is always full of excitement and joy. I mean, who doesn’t get happy on this joyful day and feel in love with this moment. You are with your family which is your ultimate safeguard zone, and you get to enjoy a lot of food and snacks! It is a day to give love, kindness, and compassion to all that are close to you.

It is not just about the Holidays but about being grateful and having more compassionate and kind personalities. Think about all the people around you, and do some nice acts for them. It can be small or big but in the end, it will benefit your life. There are lots of times you should be the bigger person, or put yourself in a position to be a responsible figure in your family.

Thanksgiving the Whole Month of November

Avoid the Holidays at All Costs in 2021

 So What?

We’re all going to be in the same predicament; we’re all going to be accused of being a Scrooge before November even begins.

As if the last two months of the year couldn’t get more jumbled up, Christmas is sandwiched in the middle.

With more shopping, parties, traffic, and holiday stress, it’s no wonder we aren’t looking forward to the holidays.

But with Thanksgiving being on Thursday this year, there’s a silver lining: you get the day to shop.

So if you aren’t rushing to buy gifts, allow this weekend to start preparing your thoughts.

For me, I’m celebrating my birthday by enjoying a couple of beers and some good food. No holiday hoopla insight.
